Ontario Craft Cider

I have a confession to make:  I’m a big fan of Ontario craft cider. Given how cider’s kind of taken off here in Ontario the past few years, that may not sound like much of a confession. But, since I don’t like beer (or even colas) at all – I mean, AT ALL – I figured cider wouldn’t be for me.  For years I chalked up my disdain for beers and colas to carbonation.  But, given that  I love sparkling wines, that theory went out the window.img_3730

Anyway, the first cider I dared try was Sir Isaac – a hard pear cider made by the Puddicombe Estate Farms & Winery folks. I came across it one day when I was at the winery. I honestly didn’t even know what cider was, and when I saw it in beer bottles, I almost gave it a pass. But I bought a couple bottles and brought them home. I am SO glad I did! Cider is deliciously light and refreshing. Who knew!?img_3743

Since then, Ontario cider has become a minor obsession that rivals my interest in Ontario wine. So, I thought it’s time to add a section to the website devoted specifically to hard cider. (The app had a section devoted to Hard Cider – so this is really just a continuation of that.)
